About Us

The German House was founded by Dr Diane Milburn, a highly experienced German to English medical and pharmaceutical translator.
After several years working in business in Germany and the UK, she completed a PhD in German and was employed as a lecturer in the German Department of Leeds University. She subsequently moved into the translation industry where she specialized in German to English medical translation, managing an in-house team of German translators and proof-readers working on a contract for the Ministry of Defence that involved the translation of over 10,000 documents per year in 11 years. It is this experience of German to English translation and attention to detail that is brought to the German House.

Our strength lies in our people – specialist translators with many years of experience who only translate into their mother tongue. We pride ourselves on recruiting experienced German linguists.
